Catch Up

I guess where we last left off we were going to Dallas for J's birthday.
About to get on the road.
We had a great time being in Dallas, relaxing, and hanging out with family. On Friday night J got us AWESOME tickets to Cirque du Soleil.
Our great seats and an amazing show.

Family before the show.

Mom and me.

The cutest parents ever.

Before the show.
From Market in the Meadow to golf lessons to a sleepy girl..
We had a fantastic time in Dallas. Thanks to everyone for making it and J's birthday so special. Also Fenway loved meeting Cousin Jackson and cannot wait to meet Cousin Ellie, Jenny and Annie.

A big thanks to Annie, Kelley and Shaun for treats for the Fenners. Here is her encounter with the treat when we returned home.
She is a silly puppy. Speaking of Shaun and Kelley, we CANNOT wait to see them this Friday. Here is hoping the bring warm weather, good luck and have safe travels. Yeah!

The sad news of today is that my phone has no more memory space. So until I can clear some of it out, I cannot take pictures or video, tear. But J has been taking some for me and he was wonderful and emailed them to me so I could share with you. Plus a few I didn't know he had taken.
This was a sneaky photo by J. I thought Fen was my kitchen helper, in truth she was waiting for me to drop something.

She really likes to cuddle now. Here she was almost smothering me because she wanted to cuddle on my face.

Another sneaky picture by J. This was a bathroom break for Fenway on the way back to Fayetteville.

Vampire dog. Yes, she was asleep like this.

Getting so big!

We know, we know. We are ridiculous with pictures of her, but that face is so cute! Here is to hoping I clear out my phone and can take more pictures. Maybe I will even post one of my new haircut!

Last Tuesday J and I celebrated 4 months of being married. We got to look back and see how blessed we have been these past few months and cannot wait for many more. I cannot believe it has only been 4 months! It has truly been the best 4 months of my life and I cannot wait for many many more! And also to see what God has in store!

Now back to my challenge, the questions. This one, 30 things I would like to do before I am 30. So I have a little less than 5 years.

  12. Play a round of golf with my Dad.
  13. Take at least one trip a year with J and cell phones are not allowed.
  14. Learn how to take great pictures (and maybe get a great camera for it).

Monday Morning

I got a wonderful text from my MOH last night reminding me about my blog, thanks Kel! =) Sorry I have been a tad MIA recently. But I really do appreciate everyone who asks/reminds/talks to me about my blog, it makes me feel like it is not totally in vain. And to be honest it takes some guilt away that I cannot talk to all of you all the time about my everyday life here in Fayetteville. Plus it stretches me to be more open and share my life.

It hasn't been too eventful here in Fayetteville. I was feeling a tad under the weather this weekend, so I took it easy with my girl. J obvi (abbrev for you Neugs) had work and a VERY long day. They had 2 rain delays and only played partially into the 3rd quarter because of all the delays. Finally the SEC called the game because the rain didn't have any intention of stopping and the game wasn't very close. So WE WON! This week is a bye week and J actually had the WHOLE day off yesterday, I know right? I didn't even know what to do with myself to have a whole day with the hubby, it feels like forever. So we went to church, ran errands, got chairs for our backyard, walked the dog, watched football and went to a marriage conference-thing at church. So not exactly a relaxing day, but so much fun to do it with my husband.

Since it is as bye week, J has the weekend OFF as well! So we are heading our little butts down to Dallas to celebrate his birthday! He will be another year older on the 21st and we are SUPER excited to spend it in Dallas. I promise to take lots of pics of our Dallas weekend so I can document it well on here. But right now the rest is a surprise for him, so I don't want to ruin it!

We will be bringing the mess dog with us. She is getting so big!
Hello!

Just make yourself comfy.

Watching the game.

Exhausted after a walk.

Mom, no more pictures.
Her favorite thing to do is get under this bucket and then pop out. It is pretty cute.

Do you think we take enough pictures of this dog? Ha.

Now on to the question:

What are 5 things that make you the most happy right now:
  1. My husband. He is amazing and fun and funny and loving and handsome and sweet and helpful and caring and more than I could ever ask for. I love that I get to live life with him and am blessed beyond belief by him.
  2. Fenway. Seriously, dogs are the best pets. She is always so happy and fun to be around, even when she is biting you. I can't believe how fast she is growing up and how much we love her. It really is a neat experience to start to understand the process of being a parent and how much work/love/frustration/care/worry, etc. goes into being a parent.
  3. Sunshine (and warmth). We have had rain for the past 6 Fridays it seems like. Plus last week we started our "fall" weather. Frost on my windshield is NOT Fall weather. I just love to be warm and in the sunshine, it makes me a happier person. I only wish my office had a window. So if you have a window in your office, LUCKY!
  4. Laughing/Smiling. I remember reading somewhere how many more times a 4 year old laughs than an adult. I remember being in grade school and just always having a smile on my face or laughing, sometimes for no reason. I realized when I smile it is easier to make it through a day, easier to take on a hard project and easier to have a happy outlook. So I have really tried to appreciate each smile, laugh, fun moment and remind me that life is good.
  5. Friends/Family. I know I have said this before, but I have the best friends and family in the whole world. They ground me/push me/love me/ challenge me and the list goes on and on. I love the memories we have together and thinking about how many more we will have. Yesterday was the Royal Family Outing to the State Fair of Texas. A serious tradition in my family. It was so hard to miss it, but I love that my family still goes and sends pictures afterward allowing us all to join in on the fun. Or our TX-OU party. It may have been bigger in past years but it is always fun. Plus Saturday I got to Facetime with the party from my living room so I felt a part of the action. Y'all spoil me and I love y'all LOTS.
Happy Monday everyone!

love love love y'all,
K

P.S. Totes broke out the UGGS today.

Whirlwind

Wow, it feels like the past week has FLOWN by. I cannot believe it has been 7 days since my last post, sorry! Let's see what we missed...
Last Monday:
Fenway had her orientation to obedience training.
We were there for almost 2 HOURS! Not that I do not appreciate how thorough our teacher is, I just felt bad for Fenway. But in the past week she has stopped almost all accidents in her kennel and learned sit and a few other commands (the other commands only work when a treat is present). As predicted obedience school was hard for ahem, me. Apparently I praise Fenway too much. Hey! I cannot help when that cute little face looks at me I just want to snuggle into that sweet girl. Needless to say we/she is adjusting well and we are proud of her. The trainer did ask that she lay off the beer.
Starting her young.
I'm looking at you Mom. =)

Tuesday:
Intramural Volleyball
Yes, I am playing intramural co-ed volleyball. I still have a hard time playing with people who haven't played volleyball their whole life, but God is just teaching my patience and that my body is OLD and SORE. Yes, we lost too.

Wednesday:
Started on Kennys' birthday present, pictures to come.

Thursday:
Fenway to the vet.
Our little girl is now almost 12 pounds, such a chunker! She got two shots and had a stool sample taken and did GREAT. She didn't do well when they doctor wanted to look at her teeth but overall a great visit. We should be going back in about 2 months for her to get spayed! Yikes!
Fun ride home from the vet. We were stopped at a light, I promise!

Friday:
I took the whole day since we were leaving for Auburn with the team. It was POURING and I had to say goodbye to our little girl. But I knew she was in great hands with my GA.
After dropping her off and getting ready I headed to the private airport in Fayetteville. Our plane was a tad late because the first one had mechanical issues, but in no time we were on our way to Auburn.
I got to sit next to the hubs, got my own bag tag, and was served yummy treats on the plane. We landed in Montgomery, AL and stayed there Friday night. The wives all went to dinner together and had a wonderful time. One of the ladies' cousin lived there and she met us at dinner and showed us around the town.
Friday night.
The middle is the capitol, if you didn't know Montgomery is the capital of Alabama. We also saw the bus stop Rosa Parks was picked up at before she refused to give up her seat.
(That picture is on my other camera... sorry!!)
Then we went back to hotel, since we had an early morning for the 11 a.m. game.

Us at 7 a.m.
Since we were in Montgomery we had about a 45 minute bus ride to Auburn. Once we got there we had time to spare so the wives hung out on the bus. We had a fun time and all went into the game together and sat by each other.
We had a great win and a fun game. Kenny even had a cameo on TV. It was also beautiful and 85 at the game, only for us to go back to 45 and sleeting in Fayetteville.
The plane waiting for the team.
After the game we headed back for the plane home and we were back in Fayetteville by 6:30 p.m. What a way to travel right? Right when we landed we went to go pick up the Fenners. She was happy to see us but I knew she had a great time and was well taken care of.

Once we got home all of us passed out from our long weekend (and it was only Saturday!). We got up Sunday feeling refreshed and went to church and had a date at the movie Pitch Perfect. It is cute and really funny. Kenny headed in to work and I ran some errands (Fenway got a new leash).

Then I made some homemade spinach dip and toffee, both are SO yummy. After eating that junk, I took Fenway for a run around the block. When we got home she passed out in her bed.
I took a moment to document her growth. So the bottom is her picture from Sunday night and the top is when we were in Dallas at the beginning of September. She has grown!

I guess I was a little tired as well.
This was actually from last week, but Kenny has been blackmailing me with it.

I think that sums it all up. We had such a wonderful time and are looking forward to our next trip for James' birthday.

Also this popped up on my instagram and I thought I should share.

Just something to think about.

Also to day 4 of my challenge:
If you were an animal what would you be and why?

I would be a basset hound that belonged to my Mom and Dad, because they know how to give a dog the life! Also dogs are just happy and joyful. I love that they have a short memory and unconditional love. Plus dogs have a great life philosophy, "If you can't eat it or play with it, pee on it and walk away".

Hope y'all are having a great Monday,
love love love y'all,
K

Dun dun dunnnnnn

Fenway has her first day of obedience school today, dun dun dunnnn. It is just her orientation and we will start the rest of it in a few months, but I have a feeling there are going to be big adjustments for not only Fen, but her mom and dad.

Since she has already learned how to break through our barriers...

And I promise she doesn't sleep all the time...

Well...
But, she did really enjoy the Ryder Cup this weekend.
Maybe?
In her defense, we had an eventful weekend. We celebrated my friend, Casey's birthday by glamping. Aka building a tent in our living room..
Not terrible, right?
We had a really fun channeling our inner child. We saw Finding Nemo 3D, made homemade cinnamon rolls (delish) and lots of other fun things!

So tonight we have obedience school, Fen has a vet appointment Thursday night and then we get ready to leave for Auburn! Just praying it is a good trip for us (a win would be great) and that Fenway is a great house guest!

On a sweet note, I found this from my hubby this morning.
If you can't read his writing it says: "Fenway and I love you!"
Isn't he the best thing ever? It was the best way to start a  Monday morning!

Now back to the challenge, question 3:
10 things you would tell your 16 year-old self-
only 10 things.. yikes...
  1. Some friends may come and go, but the really great ones will stay with you forever, plus some friends have to go so you can meet some amazing ones in college and after!
  2. Your parents want the best for you. They are there to love you/challenge you and make you the best person possible. You owe everything to them (so stop talking back, you do not know everything, Ms.Stubborn). Oh and listen to your Mom and Dad when you are driving, you hug the lane line, bad.          P.S. They are the best thing that happened to you in this life, you cannot tell them thank you enough! The older you get you will realize this more and more. You will hope you can only be a fraction of how awesome/amazing they are. You also got an amazing family as well, you are one lucky girl.
  3. It isn't always easy to do the right thing, but it always works out in the end (and for the better).
  4. Give grace and patience, a lot of it. Because you need it given to you  even more.
  5. Things won't work out the way you plan, they work out 100 times better.
  6. Love and appreciate everyone. They all have something to give, find that unique part of them and cherish them for that.
  7. Love and live without expectations on others.
  8. You are going to hurt sometimes, life will be sad at points, that is okay, it is a part of life. But open up and share that hurt with others, it makes it go away faster and people will love you even more for being vulnerable.
  9.  Love those around you with all you have. They will not be around forever.
  10. You are blessed beyond belief. God has given you  amazing riches/gifts in family, friends, love, life and so much more. Be thankful and live that way everyday. You never get to re-live one moment or get one moment back, so enjoy it.

Hope everyone is having an amazing Monday,

love love love y'all,
K
