Day 2

Describe 3 legitimate fears you have and how they became fears.

  1. Tornadoes

Yes, tornadoes scare the crud out of me. I don't know really know why, I think it is the destruction they cause and the unpredictable nature of them. Ask anyone who has been around me when there is a warning, I freak out. Hey, it said legitimate fear, not legitimate reaction. Ok, can we stop talking about them now, its raining outside, and yeah.. I am over this one.

2. Roller Coasters

Really, really now? This is terribleness. I do not like roller coasters. Ask my mom about the time I waited in line with her to ride the bobsled at 6 flags only for me to step right over the cart when it came out and just walk away. I can't do it. I am not really sure why. I think it so something to do on how my stomach flops around and I feel completely out of control. Not to mention those horror stories of people getting stuck upside down in them or falling out.

For goodness sakes, I went to Harry Potter world and couldn't ride any rides!

3. Scary Movies

Yes, even frighteners scares me. I cannot do scary movies. The fact that it could be real just does me in. When I was in high school I went to 1 scary movie in a theater with my club volleyball team. I sat through almost the whole movie with the fingers in my ears singing songs to myself. I did this because I heard the music is the scariest part. It helped, but still no thank you, I don't even want to see your scary trailer, let alone the whole movie.

Well, now that I completely freaked myself out, I guess I will continue with my Thursday. Day 2 down!

The scariest thing in the D household is how Fenway sleeps...
It hurts to just look at her.

And how she can now jump over her "gate" from the rest of the house.

Pushing myself

Happy Monday morning!

We had a fun weekend with Joe coming in town. We had a lot of good food, tailgated a little and played with Fenway.
On the field with Joe before the game.
James also stopped by to say hi before the game.
Love my hubs.

Of course some fun pictures of Fen from the weekend.
A girl and her dad. He was comforting her while I was vacuuming.
I do not know how I got this picture, but yes she is sticking her tongue out at her mom.
Funny girl, watching TV with mom.
The sneaker stole the remote.
Tired girl, after a long weekend and a bath.
She is 11 weeks old today. She is so much fun to be with and her mommy and daddy love her very much. She goes back to the vet next Thursday for her LAST set of shots (I think). Then that Friday my G.A. is going to watch her when I go to Auburn with James. I was going to board her, but I didn't want her to be in a cage all day and I will just miss my girl!! I know I am being ridiculous, she will be fine.

So on a new note, I was browsing blogs yesterday and I came across one, where she "spiced up" her blog by answering something random about herself each day/post. It sounded like a fun/good/challenging thing to do, so I am going to take it on. So, here goes nothing:

Day 1, Question numero 1-
List 20 random facts about yourself:
  1. I hate touching the bottom of unglazed plates, cups, etc.
  2. I do not like lemon flavored candy.
  3. I always put my right sock on first.
  4. My right hand gets cold when I type.
  5. When I am home alone, I change the channel if a scary preview comes on.
  6. I never spit out my gum, I swallow it.
  7. When using the AC in the car, I always make sure the circulated air is on.
  8. I always think my front tires look flat.
  9. Strep tests are my worst enemy.
  10. I am scared to use an eyelash curler.
  11. I wish I could still wear shorts or spandex under my dresses and skirts.
  12. I can't let my teeth touch metal silverware.
  13. I do not like the smell or taste of wine or coffee.
  14. When I climb the stairs I don't put my whole foot down, only my toes.
  15. I always think of things to tweet or post, but then never I do.
  16. I wish I could eat almost everything without silverware.
  17. I lose all motivation to work out after 3 pm.
  18. 18 is my favorite number, then 4.
  19. I don't like to hiccup.
  20. I always think I should dye my hair another color, but I probably never will.

Catch up

Well HELLLOOOOO. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday, if you are not then you need to watch this little gem...

Burnt Orange Tailgating

After you watch that, then sneak a peek at this picture..
James definitely rocking the frat swoop. This is actually the haircut he had when I first met him. So long hair or short, I think my husband is pretty darn attractive!
I would like to thank my father and all my boy cousins for helping me learn the game of football. "What? Is this a real question?" "A bowl game.. A baowlll game, why are y'all asking me these questions?"

Sorry I just had to poke a little fun.

All is wonderful in the D household. We just did our first really big grown-up thing (other than purchase Fenway) and bought a car!!! It was a scary, fun, exciting, and nerve-racking process, but it is all done now. Well, except for the car payments, hah.
James in our newest baby.
We would really like to thank our parents for their help/guidance and answering 8 million phone calls pertaining to the car. Thanks guys, we love y'all.
We just bought a car!
To catch y'all up on everything else..
This weekend was a blast. We had so much fun with my parents, despite the weather. Grandma and Grandpa loved seeing their grandpup growing up and spoiled her rotten. Also they brought some homemade goodies from Mamaw that were delicious, THANKS Mam!
She loves her grandma.
Mom and I at the game... pre-rain.
James got us an amazing parking pass, on the field passes and 4th row tickets. We had a great time at the game, even though it rained for most of it and didn't turn out in our favor.

But, (as always) we hit up some great restaurants and even went to the Florida-Arkansas volleyball game. Which coincidentally enough Keri Walsh-Jennings was there!

We had a wonderful weekend and are looking forward to our future guests: Joe for Rutgers, Kelley and Shaun for the Tulsa game and Andrew and Laura for LSU!

On a more somber note, please be praying for James' mom and the Mikowski side of James' family. Elaine's sweet mother (Mary) is not doing well and Elaine is down in Florida with her now.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic day and just know that we miss you all!!

So close, yet so far

Nothing too exciting has been happening in our little home the past few days. Fenway goes to the vet this afternoon and we are hoping she breaks the 7 lbs. mark! It is funny how one small thing can change your life so much. Hence why all of the posts have been about our little girl.

Update on Fen:
  • Ears are now longer than her head!
  • Teeth are sharper than ever, and loves hands and toes.
  • Mastering the art of potty training, HA, yeah right.
  • Perfecting the sad look especially when food is around.
  • Loves to eat leaves.
  • Taught herself how to climb the stairs (that scared Mom and Dad a LOT!). Now we have barricaded the living room so she cannot get to the stairs.
  • Getting better at baths.
  • Has let Mom cut her nails, TWICE, with minimal freaking out.
  • Learning how to "give kisses" instead of trying to bite your face off.
  • Pooping in her play area while we are gone and walking through it so it ends up everywhere.
So those are just a few updates on our sweet girl. Our little family of 3 is excited to see grandma and grandpa this weekend for the Bama game.

Some pictures and videos:

Trying to be an ostrich.

The cute pup.

Her first french fry. If you can tell, she is not entirely sure what to do with it. Apparently she is NOT her mothers daughter, since I would mainline french fries if I could.
Dad teaching Fenway to bark. He is on the left side and she is more in the middle of your screen.

To start your week off right

Just had to post some cute things that Fenway did this weekend.
Sleeping
Yes, this is Fenway. The little pup was taking an afternoon nap and I had to double check that she was breathing because in this position I was not entirely sure.

Fen loves to play with empty water bottles, toilet paper rolls, gifts from Shaun, socks and other fun things. So James and I thought what about a 2 liter bottle of Sunkist? I had bought it for James a few weeks back since I wouldn't be at the home opener for the Razorbacks.

Needless to say, I somehow caught her at the perfect moment with this bottle and if you listen closely you can hear her bark! Please excuse my camera filming, I was trying to army crawl up next to her, but not let her notice me.

Just wanted to share, hope everyone is having a great Monday and has a GREAT rest of the week.

Adventures

I was in Dallas this weekend for one of my besties since Kindergarten's wedding. Sadly, James was not able to come since Arkansas had a football game. So I made the Dallas trip with Fenway, this was her napping spot on the way down..

Yes, that is between my feet, right near the gas and break.

So after a stop in Durant to meet Mamaw, we headed on to Dallas to meet the grandparents. Mom and Dad were delighted to meet their new grandchild. We had fun wedding festivities for Katie's wedding, here is a picture of me with the beautiful bride.
So pretty!
It was a wonderful night and CONGRATS to the newlyweds. Now with the wedding activities, grandma and grandpa watched Lil Fen and I guessed they partied a little too hard.
Alcohol to minors anyone?
I think she may have had a tad too much.
When we got home from the wedding, I took Fenway out front to go potty. We started to play and about 30 minutes later, I noticed something was up. She began to get really sick out of both ends (of course all over my parents new carpet, sorry guys). Finally I went to get my parents because I was so worried about her. So about 1 am Sunday morning we made a trip to the animal hospital for our sick little girl.

The vet thinks she ate something toxic (like a bug that had been through raid, etc) and that is why she got so sick. So after monitoring her and some nausea medicine, she got to go home early Sunday morning.

Top left: leaving animal hospital. Top right: the sweet girl. Bottom: Sacked out after her night at the hospital.
Needless to say, that was probably the scariest moment of my entire life. Thankfully the punky is all well and back to her normal self! She actually got to meet the whole family later that afternoon and got a tweet from her cousin Daniel.

We got back on the road Monday and I decided that maybe Fenway should ride in a safer spot.
Co-pilot
She is such a good traveler, she whines for a short bit then she sacks out for the rest of the ride. Overall we had an excellent weekend in Dallas and want to thank everyone for making it so special and welcoming Fenway to Dallas and the family.

The long weekend exhausted her and she has found a new favorite place to recuperate.
She is still doing great, just working on not pottying in the house and not biting with those sharp baby teeth. We have a vet appointment next week for more shots and hopefully to show how much she has grown!

Not much is happening with the D's this weekend, there is an Arkansas football game in LR Saturday, so we will have a girls weekend and miss Dad while he travels with the team. Then next week we prep for Bama and for my 'rents to come in. Can't wait to see y'all and we need a family pic from the game!!

Dad and I at the Sugar Bowl.
We miss everyone and hope you have a fantastic week!
