Surprise!!

Well, it is official, I am old! Just kidding, I am 25 years young and I had a great birthday weekend. Actually, I was really spoiled and started my birthday last weekend with my friend Casey. She planned a whole day for me and it was awesome, especially because it ended with Step Up Revolution, in 3D!

This weekend was wonderful as well. James woke me up Saturday morning with breakfast in bed (biscuits and gravy), a cupcake for my "cake" and chocolate covered strawberries. It was delicious. I saved the sweets for after my staff training that day. Then I got to open presents. A new purse, sports bra from lululemon and cover up paint for my car. I have wanted these things for forevvveeer, so I was SUPER excited. We then had to part ways because I had work and so did James. The football team had a scrimmage that night, so I got to"see" him. Which means he was working on the field and I got to wave at him occasionally. =)

But the GREAT news is that James had Sunday off. Of course, Murphy's law I had to work. But I got done a little after lunch time, so we got to spend the rest of the day together and it was perfect. We went to lunch, shopping for some stuff for the house, the library and Petsmart....

YES, I said Petsmart. You know why? Because I was SURPRISED by this lovely lady from James.

Everyone, please say hello to Fenway. She is our new addition to our little family. She was born on July 8, 2012. We will get her this Saturday and I am so excited. I spent half of Saturday puppy proofing the house because I was so ready for her to be here.

If you are in Dallas the weekend of Katie's wedding she will be coming home with me, so please come by and say hi (let's just hope she doesn't have an accident on my parents white carpet)! We are so happy for this addition and have been doing lots of research to get ready for her.

Of course, she is a full blood basset and she actually only lives 6 miles away from James parents' house. So be prepared for lots of fun and funny stories from our little girl.

Such a happy birthday for me! Also thank you all for the wonderful birthday presents, cards, calls, texts and voice messages, it meant SO much and made the day so special!

Love love love y'all,
K

Home

I told you it was coming, and it is FINALLY here. Our home!!
Welcome..
Our front door. A big thanks to James parents for the doormat.
I know what you are thinking, what a cute wreath. Well, the credit must go to my great friend here in Fayetteville, Casey. I celebrated my birthday with her last weekend (since I have work this weekend) and my present was making this wreath for the front door. So she got all the supplies and found the wreath on Pinterest and we went to town! I had been really wanting a wreath for the front door, so this was a GREAT and FUN present.

Please come in..

Of course, my cross wall.
This is on our wall right when you walk in the house. I have had a cross wall in every place I have lived since junior year of high school. So it was only appropriate to bring to our 1st home. I love this wall because each cross is unique and has a story. If you didn't know, I love to collect crosses and angels.
If you look in the bottom right hand corner you can see our two metal razorbacks, they are our guard hogs.

Take a seat...
Our living room.
Right after you walk through our entry you are led to our living room. Still a work in progress, but since there aren't any boxes or thank you notes (I hid them before the picture) in this room, I thought I could give you a sneak preview. Actually, all of our wedding presents have found a home, which makes me a HAPPY camper. They had been occupying half of our kitchen.

Would you like something to drink?
Our kitchen before.

Our kitchen after. I know, just like Extreme Home Makeover. Ha!
Our kitchen.  A love/hate relationship. I love that this kitchen has much more counter space and natural light than my last kitchen. Hate: There is NO storage in this kitchen. So we added some of our own to help out. So it is still a little cluttered in my opinion, so again, a work in progress.

But it does feel nice to have a semblance of order in our new place. I still have some small things I would like to do, but everything in due time.

So welcome to the downstairs of our home. Hopefully you will be able to actually stop by one day!

I have to send a huge shout out to my hubby. He was a HUGE help with the WHOLE house. Actually, he did the ENTIRE guest room (closets and all), I cannot even take credit for it! He is pretty wonderful.

Speaking of how wonderful he is, I was having a rough day earlier this week and he surprised me with this picture collage.
And also with candy on my desk, one of my favorite kinds...
Don't worry I am almost 25. This was his thank you picture for my candy and for being my husband.
Seriously, did I hit the jackpot or what? Love you James.

I hope everyone is having a FANTASTIC day.

A little bit of everything

Our wedding photos are in! You can see some of the pictures at our photographers' blog at Beaty Blog. We just got the rest but I promised James that I would wait to look at them till we could see them together! It is really hard being patient. Here are a few photos from their website and then a few from my friend Kristin.
My handsome husband.

We are married!

Walking down the aisle.

All done and married!
I promise to share more after we look through them.

This weekend I got to go to Dallas for Katie's bachelorette. We went to the cute town of Grapevine and did a wine tour, so much fun!
Me, Katie and Sarah at Su Vino, a stop on the wine tour.

It was great to see the girls and to see my family as well, weekends at home always seem too short. But I will be back at the beginning of September for Katie's wedding, so excited! After that the wedding season will continue with some close friends, CONGRATS guys.

Otherwise it is life as usually for us in Fayetteville. Football is in full-swing for James so he is busy busy. I am just trying to finish up the house and get ready for school to be back in session. It always gets really busy at work right when school is back in session, but it will be nice to have campus full and buzzing again.

We have our last regular season kickball game tonight and we will start the playoffs on the 20th. Hopefully we will have the same success that we did last year!
