1 Month

As of yesterday James and I have been married for one month! Here is how we spent the night...
After finishing up work we headed to our city league kickball games. Yes our teams name is "i wanna know where da gold at", if you do not know what that is from, please go watch this now, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nda_OSWeyn8 . This is our 2nd year on the team and it is a blast. Last year we made it to the semi-finals and won. But sadly our team had a work event on the finals game night so we could not go to the championship.

Right now we are undefeated (6-0) and having a great time.  The pictures above are of our jersey, James and I in the dugout, and James playing shortstop (he is pretty awesome and athletic). Our team is a great group of friends who are also co-workers ( I must remember to get a team picture!).

Here is why I think our team is as successful as it is:
  • We are about, on average, 10 years younger than other teams.
  • Our team is made up of rec and athletic employees, so we have a tad bit of athleticism.
  • We maybe get competitive at times
  • This is an ADULT kickball league, so you may bring ADULT beverages. Some of the other teams partake in this type of hydration a tad more than us.
  • We aren't afraid to go all out. Hence my knees in this picture below.

This happened after I slid head first into 3rd last season, not my smartest move ever.
Okay, I put this up to show that maybe I get competitive at times. I was trying to pull a triple out of my kick in the semi-final game last year. As I saw that it was going to be a close play at third, I decided to slide. Problem: volleyball instincts took over from softball instincts, so instead of feet first (how I learned to slide in softball) I went head first like I was going for a volleyball. Needless to say I was out. But not before I was pegged in the face. So moral of the story: it is city-league kickball, if you are getting pegged in the face, you are probably doing something wrong.

Now I will say, I blame, in part, my cousins for this competitiveness. Not saying it is their fault, but we used to have some rowdy games of boys vs girls kickball in the front yard on holidays. To say the least, us girls were at a slight disadvantage. Not because we weren't athletic, we were, but because the boys would do anything and everything possible to annoy each girl until they quit or cried. You know what I am talking about boys. "Round the horrrnnnnn!" So we probably never played 3 complete innings without someone storming off, or the boys just ignoring us and throwing the kickball to each other. Therefore I attribute my competitiveness in city league kickball to my cousins. Thanks guys, I wouldn't be here without you :)

Anyway, we had a great 1 month anniversary and I feel lucky to be married to such a WONDERFUL man. It truly has been a great month and I am so excited for MANY, MANY more. It just all feels so complete now that we are married.

We are still slowly working on the house (and thank yous), so look for house pictures coming soon!

Love love love y'all!

Big changes

Welp, I guess it is official...

I officially have a new name and a new state license. In full blown honesty this was probably the hardest thing. No, not changing my name, giving up my Texas license. I know right? If you want the whole story talk to Mom. Poor thing had to hear me be sad this morning. Also Arkansas TOOK my Texas ID and didn't give it back. I mean that is a little ridiculous, plus the picture of me was really good. =)

My mom sent me this picture the other day and it was just too good not to share.

Also if you had any doubts. Ams is definitely my mother, just look at this picture...
She does say I look like this guy...(please excuse the nudity, my parents apparently did not believe in clothing their small child)
But I definitely see how I look like BOTH of them. Plus I just LOVE this picture of my mom. I think it's perfect. First of all there is a basset in the photo, so it is already amazing. Then my mom is wearing an awesome rugby shirt, that I would wear if she still had it. Last and most importantly look at that smile. If you know my mom she is one of the most positive, happy people in the whole world and this just perfectly captivates it. My mom is beautiful inside and out, and I just feel like this picture just shows that.

Plus my dad has a pretty great smile too and just look at all that black hair with NO grey. I have pretty great parents, there I said it, they are awesome. Love you  guys, a lot. Thanks for being cool then and now.

Love love love y'all

I am a Mrs. !!

I cant believe we have been married over 2 weeks! It is just so much fun being married to James. We took our 2nd vacation of our married life to Texarkana, Texas this weekend to visit Kenny's our friends Scott and Meagan. We had a great time, if you have never made the drive from Fayetteville to Texarkana then you are missing out. It was green, lush and beyond beautiful. I am still kicking myself that I didn't take more pictures. I keep telling myself I will when I get a new camera but I still cannot bring myself to get a new one. I know it is a terrible excuse!

Anyway, we had a blast with them, wandering around old Texarkana with beautiful houses and brick streets. We also watched the UFC fight, where I impressed the boys with my knowledge of the sport (thanks Dad?). Then we got up and had lunch at this great Mexican food restaurant called Uncle Juan's (the avocado enchilada was delish) and headed back to Fayetteville (just in time to watch American Ninja Warrior).
Hubby and I at the state line. Both of these states have a place in my heart.

I know what you are thinking, how can I not talk about the wedding or the honeymoon. I promise I will post more on those when I get the pictures for the wedding and when I upload the pictures from Jamaica. I know, I'm sorry!

Plain and simple it was the BEST day of my life. We honestly believe that we were blessed with the best wedding ever and that was because of the people. Our family and friends made it spectacular, so thank you for celebrating with us. We love each and every one of you and even for the people who could not attend, you were there in spirit.

Rocking the Nike frees.
Here are a few pictures we have from friends and family...
James and I at the rehearsal dinner that was absolutely fantastic at Matt's, put on by James' parents.

First time Dad seeing in my wedding dress.

Best maid of honor in the whole world. I bet she will rent out her services and you should take her up on it!

The best bridesmaids I could have asked for. I love all of you girls SO MUCH. (If I was good and techy I would photoshop Cassie in, sorry we missed you in this pick Cass).
My super handsome guy cousins. Daniel "caught" the football/garter, I guess he is next??!!
I just want to say a special thank you to my parents. They are beyond amazing and I love them so much. I never planned my wedding as a little girl, but they gave me the wedding of a lifetime. So thank you Mom & Dad. You are the best parents in the whole world. I love y'all.

So with that, I will go work on downloading my Jamaica pictures. Also we have a kickball game tonight! Our first married sport together!

love love love y'all and  have a fantastic week!
